The Process for Getting Dental Veneers
The entire process of getting veneers, including planning and placement, can be completed in as few as two appointments at Scheich Family Dentistry.
First Veneers Appointment – Planning and Designing
Once our dentists determine that you’re a good candidate for veneers, we’ll schedule your first appointment. To prepare your teeth, we remove a minimal amount of tooth structure so your veneers fit perfectly and look natural.
We take impressions of the prepared teeth, select a shade of white that closely matches your smile, and wait about two weeks while your veneers are fabricated to our specifications by a custom dental lab.
Second Veneers Appointment – Placing Your Veneers
When we receive your final custom-made veneers, you will return to our Castle Pines dental office so that our cosmetic dentists can place them on your teeth. Dr. Jeff or Dr. Stephanie will check the veneers for fit, adjust them as necessary, and bond them to your teeth.
The final step is to polish your new veneers and reveal your stunning new smile!
How to Care for Your Porcelain Veneers
Dental porcelain is strong and durable and the smooth surface repels staining from red wine, coffee, or darkly-colored foods like beets and berries. You can brush and floss with veneers just as you usually do but avoid abrasive toothpaste that can scratch their smooth surface.
Veneers are durable, but they are also very thin and can chip or break when subjected to too much force. Avoid crunchy foods like crusty bread, don’t chew on ice, and don’t use your teeth as tools!
